‘Places’ Open Mic Theme Night
The theme for our next open mic night is ‘There’s a Place for Us’ – no, not songs from West Side Story but songs whose title includes a place name. So you could go for a country – Kim Wilde’s ‘Kids in America’, a city – Jimmy Osmond’s ‘Long Haired Lover from Liverpool’ or a street – The Beatles’ ‘Penny Lane’, a building Madness’s ‘House of Fun’ or even somewhere in space – David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars’.
The ‘There’s a Place for Us’ open mic night will take place on Monday March 17th. in place of the normal club night. As usual songs can be performed individually or as a duo or group and you may be able to perform more than one song – depending on how many entries we get. You are also all welcome to sing along with the songs.
The performances will be filmed during the open mic but if you really do not want to be filmed please tell a leader before you go on stage and Paddy will not publish the recording. To view the ChUG video/photo policy click on this link.
To register your chosen song send an email with your name and song title to g.e.harrison@blueyonder.co.uk
and (with the help of Paddy) I’ll add it to a list on the website (or tell you the song has already been chosen by someone else). Looking forward to another entertaining evening…
