About Us
When this ukulele group was started in 2008 it was the only group in the county and was originally called ‘UkeGlos’. Since then the popularity of the ukulele has grown so much that the county can now boast about a dozen clubs, so we recently changed our name to ‘Cheltenham Ukulele Group’ which more accurately reflects its location and membership. The group meets weekly to promote playing the ukulele and singing in an informal atmosphere, and all are welcome.
The group has given rise to a number of individual performers and ukulele bands, eg. The Ukeholics, who went on to create the Ukulele Festival of Great Britain in 2010.
