ChUG – Events Calendar

A member has suggested that the next ‘theme’ open mic be Country and Western and others have been quick to endorse this – so it has been decided to go along with the suggestion and hold a C&W night on 17 June ’19. So errr, yee-haw!
There seems to be quite a good scope for a variety of material, from older songs by legends like Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams, popular singers like Johnny Cash and Jim Reeves, to the newer singers such as Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney and a whole raft of women singers, including Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Alison Krauss, the Dixie Chicks etc. etc. There are also C&W songs already in the CheltUke songbook that you could choose to perform.
As usual, songs can be performed individually or by groups and, depending on how many people sign up, you may be able to perform more than one song. You are also all welcome to help the performers out and sing along with the songs.
To register your chosen song send an email to g.e.harrison@blueyonder.co.uk or tell me on a club night and I’ll (in combination with Paddy) compile a list of songs/performers on the website. You can also dress up as appropriate but please no guns or spurs…
